Service and Parts FAQs

You can find answers to the most common questions we receive about car service and maintenance. If you don’t find the answer to your question below, give us a call and speak to one of our service technicians.

How often should I get an oil change?

Conventional oil should be changed every 3,500 miles and synthetic oil change needs to be changed every 6,000 miles. Oil changes should be completed based on the manufacturer’s recommendations and requirements to maintain factory warranty parameters and to keep your vehicle performing at its best.

How often should I change my air filter?

Air filters should be replaced every 10,000 miles or as needed depending upon driving conditions. A complete multipoint inspection is performed on every vehicle serviced at our location by a certified Nissan Technician. We will review this inspection with you, which will keep you informed on the condition of both your air filter and your cabin air filter.

Why should I service my car at a car dealership?

We have factory trained technicians and install factory parts that are engineered specifically for your vehicle.

When do I need to get a tire rotation?

Every 5,000 miles or at every oil change interval. If you notice or feel abnormal tire wear, please make sure to stop by as soon as possible so we can ensure there are no underlying issues.

Do I have to schedule an appointment to get my vehicle serviced?

We recommend you call and speak with one of our certified consultants before you visit our service center, but walk-ins are always welcome.

Parts that come directly from the manufacturer are designed and engineered for fit and function for your specific vehicle. At our service center, OEM Nissan parts are installed by factory-trained and certified technicians. These parts also come with a nationwide 12 month/12,000-mile warranty when installed by a Nissan-certified technician.

What type of training do your technicians have?

Our service team also undergoes ASE training, and we have several technicians with experience and certifications in other manufacturers training programs. In short, we’re prepared to service a variety of makes and models, so you can trust us with your vehicle no matter what you drive.

Why are vehicle inspections important?

In Colorado, inspections are required to renew you car's registration. It's also helps keep your vehicle running smoothly, protecting you, your passengers, and others on the road.

Where can I have my vehicle inspected?

If you need to renew your vehicle registration, you'll need to have your car inspected by a certified inspection station. Greeley Nissan in Greeley, CO, is certified to complete these inspections. A full list of certified stations is also available on the Colorado DMV website.

What is checked on a vehicle inspection?

Your inspection tech will check several core components of the car to make sure it is running as it should. This will include inspection of: brakes, filters, fluids, exhaust, tires, lights, suspension, steering, windshield wipers, and battery.

How do you pass your vehicle inspection?

A propertly maintained vehicle should pass with ease. This means keeping up with regular maintenance services, such as: tire rotations, oil changes, wheel alignment, brake services, engine & air filter changes, and battery checks. You can schedule service for all of these with Greeley Nissan.

How do you check your inspection results?

Upon completion of the inspection, you'll be given a report from the technician. It's possible to fail the inspection if any part fails to perform the way it should or is missing from your vehicle. Sometimes service recommendations will be made even with a passing inspection. This happens when any of your parts are nearing their manufacturer-suggested replacement date or are functioning correctly at the time but are expected to need replacement soon.
