Your transmission choices are a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission with a manual shifter. The Frontier can also be outfitted with 4X4 for better off-road capability, and you can use the drive mode knob to switch between 4-wheel drive (4WD) and 2-wheel (2WD) drive, depending on your route.
The available Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control features give you more power to get to the top of that mountain and keep you in control on the way down. This is especially helpful if you’re towing at the max capacity of 6,720 lbs. when properly equipped.
Safety
The Frontier has a comprehensive airbag system, Dynamic Traction Control, and Deviation Detection that corrects the path when it senses a discrepancy in the steering. It also has LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren). This system gives you the option of securing compatible child restraints without the need for seat belts.
